Built in 1892 as a 2.5-story Late Victorian frame building with a gable roof, clapboard siding, and a charming cupola-topped metal roof, Smith’s Feed and Grain Store originally served as a bustling general store starting in the late 1800s.
Locals relied on it for feed, grain, hardware, plants, seeds, farm equipment, and more, essentially a one-stop shop for rural life.
The 1.69-acre site includes an early 20th-century railroad building, hinting at its ties to Clifton Park transport. It earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 for its architectural and cultural significance. Today, after a 2023 renovation, it’s reborn as The Exchange Bar & Restaurant, blending old charm with modern vibes.
