It’s official: Stride Rite Shoes has shut its doors for good at Clifton Park Center.
Shoppers stopping by the mall this week were greeted with a handwritten note on the storefront directing them to the brand’s remaining Capital Region location at Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany.
Google has already updated the listing to “Permanently Closed,” confirming the end of an era for the longtime children’s shoe retailer in Clifton Park.
The closure adds Stride Rite to a list of retail departures from the area in 2025. Earlier this year, Clifton Park Center and nearby shopping centers lost:
- JOANN Fabrics
- Big Lots
- Advance Auto Parts
- Forever 21
- Dollar General
- Shoe Dept. (just a few months ago)
But, hey at least we have new stores to look forward to!
