A look back at The Cookie Factory
For a lot of Clifton Park families, The Cookie Factory was more than somewhere to grab dessert.
It was birthday cakes, trays brought to family parties, stopping in for something sweet, holiday orders and the smell of a bakery when you walked through the door.
For some residents, it was even a first job.
Chris and Joe Alberino announced that chapter is now coming to a close, sharing a thank-you to the customers, employees and families who were part of the business during its 20-year journey.
Oh thank goodness
Cookies are still available at stores!
In their farewell announcement, the Alberinos 🤌 said the retail stores will be closing, but customers will still be able to find Cookie Factory products at Hannaford Supermarkets, Stewart's Shops and other local favorites.

The Route 9 Store Became a Staple (for some)
The Clifton Park location at 1705 Route 9 served the area alongside the company's Troy operation.
Over the years, the cases were filled with far more than cookies. Cakes, pastries, cupcakes, breads, cannoli, breakfast items and other baked goods made the shop a regular stop for everything from an ordinary Tuesday to a kid's birthday.

The Store Had Announced a Vacation
Only about 10 days before the farewell announcement, The Cookie Factory had posted a vacation update on Facebook.
Then came the much bigger announcement that the retail chapter was ending for good.

A Final Thank You ❤️
After 20 years, it's time for us to say goodbye. When Joe and I started The Cookie Factory back in 2006, we never could have imagined where that little dream would take us. What began as a bakery grew into something much bigger than we ever expected and, along the way, we had the incredible privilege of becoming part of the lives of so many people.
We baked millions of cookies, pastries, cakes, breads and countless other things over the years. We shipped our products across the country and had the honor of seeing The Cookie Factory on shelves in supermarkets across 25 states. But when we look back, the numbers aren't what we remember most. We remember you.
The customers who walked through our doors year after year. The families who brought our cookies home. The parents who came in for birthday cakes. The grandparents who introduced their grandchildren to their favorite treats. The supermarkets and businesses who believed in us. The employees who worked alongside us and helped make our dream possible.
To every employee who shared a part of this journey with us, we want you to know how deeply grateful we are. Your hard work, dedication, loyalty and countless hours helped make The Cookie Factory what it was. We could never have done it without you, and we will always appreciate the part each and every one of you played in our story.
We remember the early mornings, the long nights, the holidays, the challenges, the laughter, the friendships and all of the moments in between. There were certainly difficult days along the way, but there were far more moments that made every bit of it worthwhile.
The Cookie Factory was never just a business to us. It was our family, our livelihood, our passion and a huge part of our lives. Joe and I are incredibly proud of what we built together. And we are even more grateful for the people who allowed us to build it.
To every customer who ever bought a cookie, ordered a cake, stopped in for a coffee, picked up a tray for a party, or simply walked through our doors, thank you. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your celebrations, your holidays and your everyday lives.
Most of all, thank you for making The Cookie Factory what it became. As we close this chapter, we do so with a tremendous amount of gratitude and an unbelievable collection of memories that we will carry with us forever.
We hope that when you think of The Cookie Factory, you don't just remember the cookies. We hope you remember the people, the smiles, the smell of something baking, and the feeling of being part of something special.
And for our family, we hope that what we built over these 20 years is something our father, our grandfather, and everyone who came before us would be proud of.
Although our Retail stores will be closing, you can still find our cookies at Hannaford Supermarkets, Stewart's Shops and other local favorites!

Those Birthday Cakes Were 🔥
We here at Clifton Park Spark HQ ordered some of the best, sweetest, most unapologetically sugary birthday cakes from The Cookie Factory over the years.
There are certain foods that become attached to a birthday, a family gathering or a specific time in your life. A Cookie Factory cake was totally one of those things.

According to the Alberinos' announcement, closing the retail stores does not mean Cookie Factory products are disappearing entirely.
And, uh.. Neither here nor there
We Know a Thing or Two About Cookie Websites, Too.
Clifton Park Spark is based right here in Clifton Park, and our digital team also works with businesses outside the Capital Region. One of them is Brooklyn bakery One Girl Cookies.
We built and manage their WordPress and WooCommerce experience, host the site and help run their digital campaigns.
We moved the bakery from Shopify to a much more flexible WordPress and WooCommerce setup.
Custom-built features handle things like cake inscriptions and scheduled local pickups.
We host and maintain their sites while supporting ongoing digital campaigns.
And yes, a box of cookies and whoopie pies tends to arrive around Christmas. We consider that excellent client communication. 🤝
