Northern Lights (later Upstate Concert Hall) was a versatile music venue located at 1208 Route 146 in Clifton Park. It began in the late 1990s as “Park West” before rebranding to Northern Lights, functioning as a bar, restaurant, nightclub, and concert hall.

The Max Creek show was part of an active 1998 tour, sandwiched between a gig at The Living Room in Providence, RI (October 23) and Webster Theater in Hartford, CT (October 25).
The concert was during a peak period for the band, shortly after releasing Spring Water and amid their influence on the jam scene.
