A family was detained Wednesday morning by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the North Pointe Apartments complex in Clifton Park, according to local immigrant advocates and a statement from the Shenendehowa Central School District.
Advocates with the Capital Region Sanctuary Coalition said ICE vehicles and four officers were seen at the apartment complex shortly before 8 a.m. The group reported that two adults and three children were detained during the interaction.
The incident occurred at North Pointe Apartments, located at 1688 Route 9 in Clifton Park.
In a statement released Thursday, the Shenendehowa Central School District said it was made aware that a family with school-aged children was detained by ICE at the apartment complex. The district said it has protocols in place for how school officials interact with law enforcement, including ICE, if they attempt to engage with students on school grounds.
ICE had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.

The news coverage is one thing, but seeing this in your town/city is something more. Our home is very nice in CP, the entire community is safe, and crime is low. My son went and graduated Shenendehowa High last year. Please leave ICE. The local police, the community is capable without ICE. If anything, why dont we get some of them to arrest the current potus and have him serve sometime for the 34 felony convictions, the 2 sexual convictions, and an insurrection.
