Clifton Park Stabbing Leaves One DEAD

Clifton Park Stabbing

LETTER FROM EDITOR

We acknowledge the death of Simon Brault, Shenendehowa alumnus, whose life ended following the violence on Beresford Road. His absence now rests heavily on friends, family, teachers, and neighbors alike. Clifton Park Spark extends its respect to everyone affected.

Authorities are investigating a fatal Clifton Park stabbing that occurred Saturday afternoon on Beresford Road. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 2:37 p.m.

Simon Brault, 20, of Clifton Park, suffered stab wounds and was transported to Albany Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jaiden Ildefonso, 18, also of Clifton Park, on Sunday, charging him with murder in the 2nd degree, a class A-1 felony. Ildefonso is accused of intentionally causing Brault’s death by stabbing him.

Ildefonso was arraigned before the Honorable Robert A. Rybak in the Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.

“My heart is heavy for the Brault family, and they are in my thoughts and prayers,” commented Sheriff Michael H. Zurlo. “I hope that they can find some comfort in the quick apprehension of the defendant through the tireless efforts of our road patrol and Criminal Investigations Unit.”
